Don't like fundraising, don't have time, or you simply want to donate because 100% of your money goes directly to the school? Hey, whatever your reason, the Opt-Out program is just for you. While any donation amount is taken and used for the benefit of our students, there is an incentive amount that allows for your children to attend the BMX Bike Show (with a great educational message against drugs).
The following amounts gets your child(ren) into the Bike show:
- 1 child - $75 or more.
- 2 children - $125 or more.
- 3 or more children - $150 or more.
For the next three years our PTO has a contract agreement with Jaxco. We are getting 50% for most of our items sold (normally, they offer 45%). In addition, if our school somehow does not make 10% more in gross sales than last year's $18,900, we will get an additional 5% profit added in (for a 55% profit on most items sold).
No matter what you sell please know that your hard working effort will provide this school with things (math/reading accelerator programs, other educational programs, various school equipment, etc.) that is not attainable via the school administration budget.
FREE Oil change at Tires Plus (the cost of this book!); eight buy one, get one FREE coupons to the Atlanta Braves games (good through Sept. 2008), plus hundreds more offers to restaurants, theme parks, and other places of interest in Fayette County as well as the metro area of Atlanta.
Each year our school earns a little more than $1,200 from the sales of these coupon books. The cost of a coupon book is $20 and our profit is $12 (60% profit). Also, for every book purchased, $1 dollar goes to our very own Board of Education to help with their budgetary needs.
Last year (spring of 2007) we had our first annual Spring Fling and boy was it a success! Kids by the hundreds with their parents and friends came out for an afternoon of food and fun. Wow, and the silent-auctions were a big hit, too. All in all, our school raised another $7,000 to complete the year.
This year we hope to raise $14,000. That's right, $14,000! To do this our Spring Fling committee has already begun work to improve on the FUN as well as the FUNdRAISING efforts. Tell everyone you know about this because it will twice as fun as last year!
